X-Vision Optics Infrared technology is composed of wavelengths that the highly sensitive technology in the device can pick up and illuminate but the human eye cannot see. Why use Night Vision instead of a flashlight?
IR light is not only invisible to human eyes but also to animal eyes. Animals are able to see not only the light coming from a flashlight but also what it is illuminating. Animals you are hunting typically don’t like being seen, so using a flashlight/spotlight to identify them will scare them off. Night Vision doesn’t give off light, making it easier to watch animals without them noticing you.
Is light required to make a Night Vision product work?
No! our specs call out “total darkness range” when we say total darkness, we mean it.
Can I see color while using Night Vision?
No. While using a Night Vision device, you will view images either in a green hue or in black and white. This is because the color green is the most sensitive color and can easily detect short wavelengths of light. You can however see color while using all of our devices during the day.
Is Night Vision gear legal to own in the United States?
If you are unsure on what your state’s regulations are please contact your local government.

How do I properly care for my Night Vision product?
- Clean the objective lens with a high thread-count cloth or microfiber cloth.
- Even though our products are water resistant, it is best to keep them as dry as possible to prevent potential water damage.
- Avoid dropping your device.
- Don’t leave alkaline batteries in if you are not planning to use your device for more than a few days.
- Products that contain lithium batteries – in order to maximize the life of your lithium battery, if storing for long periods of time, keep at or near room temperature and keep at a 50%-80% charge. Do not drain the battery down to 0% every time you use it.
