Why use night vision (IR) instead of a flashlight?

IR light is not only invisible to human eyes but also to animal eyes. Animals are able to see not only the light coming from a flashlight but also what it is illuminating. Animals you are hunting typically don’t like being seen, so using a flashlight/spotlight to identify them will scare them off. Night Vision doesn’t give off light, making it easier to watch animals without them noticing you.

Is light required to make a night vision product work?

No! our specs call out “total darkness range” when we say total darkness, we mean it.

Can I see color while using my X-Vision Optics night vision product?

No. While using a night vision device, you will view images either in a green hue or in black and white. This is because the color green is the most sensitive color and can easily detect short wavelengths of light.  You can however see color while using all of our devices during the day.

– Avoid dropping your device.

– Don’t leave alkaline batteries in if you are not planning to use your device for more than a few days.
